Festival

Jazz:Re:Found Festival evolves the indoor splendors that have consecrated it, in Turin, as a trailblazer in the exploration of new languages of jazz and black music, catapulting us into the open air in the heart of Monferrato (Cella Monte) - a UNESCO heritage site. The Festival - sculpted in a venue of unassailable splendor - thus becomes an intense bud of sounds, emotions, references, and collateral experiences (workshops, food/wine tasting, yoga, cinema, rafting) that even transcend the didactic definition of a Festival.

by Collateral

The explicit hybrid between the black roots of much of the music we listen to (of which jazz is the synecdoche) and the futuristic electronics that pervade today's productions is actually something unprecedented at these latitudes. At the crossroads between past and future, Americas and Africa, between the avant-garde of clubbing and the "retromania" of many Jazz festivals, Black and Forth and Jazz:Re:Found act as spokespersons for a mixed-race present and a democratic groove, an essential bridge between epochs, languages, and audiences. It had been since the times of Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis that the languages of jazz had not enjoyed such great popularity and strength to penetrate the fabric of mainstream entertainment and lifestyle. The return to the cultural and musical market of black languages, from Hip Hop to Jazz, and a wave of sounds and projects with an African American matrix is evident.
